One thing that bothers me is when people put down other's dolls, whether it be for an amateur face up, posing choices, or because they don't like the sculpt. I always feel like those comments could be swallowed and nothing be said at all.
So I'm talking about the Pullip community because that's were I'm the most active, and I don't think such things happen often in the BJD community. So... recently, the community changed A LOT. I've been on different forums for years, and I'm not really the one that talks a lot and such, but that doesnt mean I am not there. When I first joined, in 2009, I was 14 yo. I was the youngest girl there, and I had only one doll, one that I had saved for during a year. However, now, the average member is like 12. I think the youngest I've seen is like 10 ?! but yeah, the majority of the members are now 12-13-14. It's even kinda hard to find mature people to talk with. It's really something that I cant stand. Most of them have more than 10 dolls, some of them have also rares that cost something like 2500$. They play with them like cheap toys, "customize" them with markers... I've seen a 12 years old girl with 20+ dolls, 3 rares, and every one of them was broken in some way, as it been a hand or the head that wouldnt stay in its place, marks on the sculpts, markers that ruined the faceplate forever... I just cannot understand how parents can possibly agree on buying these girls these dolls, it's so expensive ! 20 dolls are like 4000$ maybe, without all the wigs and eyes and clothes... I really don't get that. It's written 15 yo+ on these boxes, goddammit.
